What if you take the part of the bracket the cable fits into and move it forward ? I mean take the bolts out, move it all the way up. Will you have enough cable ? If you do just drill two new holes in the main part of the bracket.

To do that, I would have to remove the distributor so that I can remove the bracket from the intake manifold... And then I would need something to hold the bracket while I drill it and I don't have anything to keep it stable while I drill and I don't think I have the right size drill bit to do that...

From my research it looks like the kickdown cables for a th350 transmission come in two sizes... 37" and 49"... they also have different style clips that connect to the carburetor kick down connector..

How would I know which one is the correct size for my car?

...or buy a geometry correction bracket, drill two more holes into the bracket, flip the cable bracket connecters...

"In the first, you can see my EDL-8030, and where I drilled the new holes slightly forward. The red outline shows the bracket, the green outlines show where the original holes were at, and you can see where my new holes are (where my little bolts are at).

Second pic is the geometry corrector - you can see how it's "L" shaped and thus brings the linkage about 1/2 inch closer to the throttle bracket, thus removing some tension as well."

Dont know anyone that has a vice and a drill ? Its a 5 minute job for someone that has a few tools. Tynan, no BS. I wish I lived closer to you. You have a pile of stuff that could be fixed in less than a day by someone that knows what theyre doing. Seriously, you dont know anyone that can help you out ?

The more tools the better in this hobby, nothing worse than being in the middle of a project and not having the right tools to finish it.

Managed to drill the holes...not exactly straight, but straight enough...

And I only had to remove the distributor cap, not the whole distributor.
