What if you take the part of the bracket the cable fits into and move it forward ? I mean take the bolts out, move it all the way up. Will you have enough cable ? If you do just drill two new holes in the main part of the bracket.
To do that, I would have to remove the distributor so that I can remove the bracket from the intake manifold... And then I would need something to hold the bracket while I drill it and I don't have anything to keep it stable while I drill and I don't think I have the right size drill bit to do that...What if you take the part of the bracket the cable fits into and move it forward ? I think I found the solution...From my research it looks like the kickdown cables for a th350 transmission come in two sizes... 37" and 49"... they also have different style clips that connect to the carburetor kick down connector..

How would I know which one is the correct size for my car?
Dont know anyone that has a vice and a drill ? Its a 5 minute job for someone that has a few tools. Tynan, no BS. I wish I lived closer to you. You have a pile of stuff that could be fixed in less than a day by someone that knows what theyre doing. Managed to drill the holes...not exactly straight, but straight enough...The more tools the better in this hobby, nothing worse than being in the middle of a project and not having the right tools to finish it.
