Yes, I worked on an '85 that had the stupid "enrichment solenoid" thingie. It was mounted where the CCC harness would normally go. Otherwise it was a normal Q-jet but pretty lean.
I have an '85 Q-jet, according to the number, was on a big block Chevy truck. The idle mixture screws were factory pre-set and were capped.
I have it all apart, removed the caps and will add conventional mixture screws.
I remembered this morning I have a weather beated '86 CCC carb down at the in-laws in my stash that I can see what hard parts I can use like the choke lever. Next trip to their house I'll pick it up.
Got all the gasket material off the air horn, I'd say about 99% of the main body. Who ever glued the gasket to the tow parts need a steel toe to the nads.
And found out the vacuum pull off (stamped 56377 on the mount bracket) on the back of the carb is for a '86-'90 307 "Y", '86-'87 "9". Might explain why it's painted gold. Outside of the paint it still looks usable. If any one needs it just cover the postage.
Got the stamping s off the metering rods, rear are DP, the front looks to be 6IS. Since I'm messing with the Qjet I grabbed the Holley to look it over. There was a factory oops on the front bowl gasket that explained one leak & the accelerator pump diaphragm had a one too. It's clean on the inside too. Only other issue is the secondary vacuum diaphragm was caught by on of its screws & has a tear.
Yes 86 for passenger cars as well in the Great White North. Of course Chevy style carbs will be much more common everything sbc powered except full size Buick and Olds till 85 which had the non CCC 307.
