Finished building and running my 1/0 gauge starter and battery wires, trunk mounted the battery, mounted the relays still gotta finish wiring those up. I'll clean everything up and make it look nice later once the rest of this wiring is completed. Also going to put in a battery kill switch in here as well. Battery box is bolted to a plate which is bolted through the trunk floor and through the rear frame, I'll probably end up trimming the plate for looks, and leaving a tab on there to mount the kill switch. Starter wire (only hot when starting) runs through the frame on the pass side and bolted in spots with cushioned clamps.

Coming along nicely. You got me wanting to remove my fenderwheels and paint them now. I should have done that in the first place. I would still have heat and a/c instead of ending up fabricating something.

hey, question. What is your battery box mounted to? The Frame or the sheetmetal? I was just wondering if it was the frame (NHRA spec) because i wondered how you mounted it and got it into the trunk area. just kinda curious because i'm thinking of doing the same jsut to clean up the engine bay.

3X, the box is mounted to the frame. First I bolted the steel plate to the frame with 4" long bolts, after drilling holes through the 2 layers of sheet metal and the frame in the bolt locations. I put the holes in a spot where the bottoms of the bolts would be accessible through the body mount access holes on the frame. The bolts that go thru the frame and plate do not go thru the battery box, the box sits on top of it, this way i had a flat surface for the battery to sit on inside the box It's mounted through the top layer of the frame, though i assume you could go through both with a longer bolt.In any case then I bolted the battery box to the steel plate you see in the pic with the supplied hardware. I've added a lil CAD drawing. .I couldn't find any info of how ppl bolted it to the frame so this is what I came up with. I still have to add my cutoff switch.

Almost fired it up last night, tonight might be the night. New stuff: MSD pro-billet distributor, my rebuilt speed demon 750dp, taylor thundervolt 50 wires, new plugs etc, brad penn oil, changed trans filter, hooked up the exhaust. Can't wait.

just picked up some brad penn for myself today. Good stuff!

Good luck when you fire it up and get it broken in!

I'm loving the rad overflow bottle
lol, just kidding,

Looking good man! Can you take a video of the first fire-up?
