Nice man! Keep the interior...it adds a lot of character to the car and extra bragging rights when you start turning faster times with that stuff still in it....esp since you still have the wood trim and split bench. Good luck!

Thanks for the comments. I may as well give an update since I haven't been around here in a while, I have been working on the body getting ready for paint. Knocked out the A/C box and put a platte in there, I ordered a VFN 4.5" fiberglass Cowl hood for it, new weatherstripping etc. Mostly stripped out everything off of the engine, going to pull that out so we can paint the engine compartment and while it is out get it freshened up a bit. We're going to paint it two-tone; mostly "Candy Apple effect Green metallic" with the top from the body line up will be "Plum Crazy effect Purple metallic" and it will have green racing stripes to break up the color a bit. We are also going to cut and tuck the rear bumper. After all the body work is done I am going to start working on updating the interior. New carpet, dye parts, new headliner, door panels, reupholster seats, custom dash, the works.

Paint colors (bad lighting)

the body work is looking good man. shes really coming along. i cant wait to get started on my body work and paint in the spring once it warms up. already dropped into the 50's here so its hard to get good relusts out of everything. i did pick up a turbo hood doff a 79 sport coupse so ill have the factory cowl hood. right now im just getting my rear end and suspension straight. i cant wait till i get some fat 275's on the back. just trying to figure out what to run on the front now

so will i really have no issue running the 275/60/r15 on my 18x8 vette rally wheels, 4" bs? i have hd boxed lower control arms, rear sway, tubular upper control arms (not that they matter for tires), moroso trick springs and airbags in springs. i wanna make sure i will have no problems before i order them

ha ha, reading about your wheel fitment...
man am I unlucky...

I have tiny 27-10x15 Hoosiers, and I had to buy ugly white 8" wide wheels with 3.75" BS (smallest offset and BS they make in my price range), and still use spacers! And people out there are running 5" BS with no mods, on wider tires!

On another topic though, I've noticed you have a similar build to my motor. Is that a Victor Jr intake? If so, I'd be interested to hear about how you've fit the aircleaner under the stock hood.

I am running the typical 1.5" drop base, with a 2.75"x14" filter. If I go to a 3" filter, I'll hit the hood. If I go to a 2.5" filter, the lid will hit the holly carb. And only K&N offers the 2.75" now, and investing in a lower drop base is $$$costly...

is your rear standard width?

Yes, I am running a Victor Jr Intake on there and I did have the stock hood with an air cleaner. I was using an edelbrock pro flo drop-base air cleaner which provided the clearance. Not sure what size the k&n was on there. Maybe the thinner and angled top cover of the air cleaner on the pro flo made the difference, I dunno. I never had a problem with clearance though. I also left that air cleaner at the car wash one day so I don't even have one on there right now.

id be interested to see that bumper tucked. ive been contemplating it very hard over the past 5 years or so. most old muscle cars had tucked bumpers instead of filler. might look nice

I will post pics and details of it tonight or tomorrow night most likely.
