The Great Tire Pressure Debate

I just set my drag radials to 17psi and f*ck your neighbour's sh*t up.

I'm remebering from my days sell tires at Pep Boys (back when it was any size for the same price) we had the old tire guide books that listed the "recommended" psi for the "plus 1" sizes. Some had a pound or two higher, some lower & it was based more on the vehicle classification (full size, mid size) that the actual model getting the tire.

I heard a rumour that my neighbour's behaviour was relative to the colour and the flavour of your humour.

if you are one of our spys in the US you are going to get caught using the u's in your words....the CIA won't find your humor funny..... 😳

have you ever checked the pressure after you do your burn out or at the end of the track along with tire temps?

Nope, I just look at my 60' time and adjust accordingly (pressure and launch technique). That being said, I chalk my sidewalls during autocross to check for rollover/flex under load. I should temp gun my tires this year to see where the heat is being built up.

Not sure you'd be that interested in long tire life using those.

The wagon's Toyos TQs have been going well for 3 seasons; and in general with so many cars here (and sets of wheels) that I rarely wear out summer tires and replace them. This is prior to one of the last times:

Easy. Around here in the South, you don't. You take them off once the blocks are in place. 🙂

Just hold on there.....I've seen some places where the house still has tires but the pick up in the front yard doesn't!😉😉
