I vary the pressure, I fill it up to about 40 and once the center of the tire is worn I decrease the pressure so the outside area of the tread will match the center......that is my secret to making the tires last twice as long....

if anyone wants to steal my idea you're welcome to it...:)

I dont care what either says. 35 psi in the cars, 40 psi in the van all way round. Hell I have 4 gauges and each read different anyways....

Yes, there is a max pressure, but isn't there also a recommended operating range?

Door jamb sticker only works for factory size tire, no? I'm gonna say my 2018 Falkens in a 245/60-16 would work better at a different pressure than the 1985 195/70-14s would.

I just checked my new tires, and they all had 25 in them. I put them up to 30 cold.

As said I usually go around max inflation cold according to the tire. I was a little pissed when the dealer dropped the tire pressure on our GT, I was a touch over 35 ps, to 30 psi. Of course it was when the weather got colder, went below 30 and an alert came on. I put it back where I wanted it.

I start 5 under max pressure for load range B and place 3 shoe polish stripes across the tread. Drive it and adjust down until I remove the stripe 1/2-3/4 from the edge if the tire. Works really well with the load range E tires on my Super Duty that are a 85psi tire that I run at 65 in the rear 70 in front unloaded.

I run 35 in every car I've owned/driven. On my Regal anyway, treadwear is fine.
