Good reading. I have a whole new shopping list fro my next trip to the local pull a part. Thanks for the input. As far as interior bits go, what have people been doing for rear seats? I just picked up a pair of buckets out of a 2 dr 08 G6 that will need some fabrication to fit to the standard tracks, but did not pull the back as it was about 4 inches too narrow to make a clean install, and am also thinking I might want to attempt to update to the fold down option if I can do a clean gusset job in the back seat area of the car with shoulder belts as well. Newer GP or associated?

I’m actually working on a fold down back seat for my Monte using pieces from an Jaguar XJ8.. I got the leather seats for cheap so I figured why not try it. I’m also looking at replacing the belts too. May grab the power front seats too, and wire them to the separate fuse box. I *think* they’re heated too so I’m curious about all of this....

We shall see how well this goes.

I have a thread that I’ll be updating, I’ll link it once I find the URL for it( My thread —-> https://gbodyforum.com/threads/78-monte-rolling-the-dice.66909/ ) ... but this is gonna be fun for sure. I’m wanting to retrofit things I like from other newer cars. I probably should have held onto the front and rear setups from my 2004 elite package Nissan Maxima. I loved the back seats and console it had. Oh well.

This is for the JEEP steering shaft when i read about it i went out and grab one and find out it the wrong one so i look at it and have and easy fix for it here what i done to mine. I cut the old shaft from G body about 2 half inch and trim it here and there made it fit inside the shaft and cut the collar off and drill a new hole thru the shaft and bolt it together about and hour work. Hope it works for you

Glad to see that you were able to turn lemons into lemonade. Nice fix.

Alright guys, I have found another junkyard swap. I know Jamcar mentioned using a rearview mirror from a Saturn Vue which has the compass and temp, but it doesn't have map lights.
Soooo, while browsing around today I came across a 2003 Impala which had map lights. After looking at several different cars, I snagged one. The mirror doesn't have anything fancy other than the map lights. It looks like all early-mid 2000's Impala's are the same, other than the LTZ models being equipped with Onstar.
It cost me $6.37 out the door, and looks right at home in the Cutlass. Now to figure out the wiring and whether to tie into the dome light harness.

Cool find. People have been snagging them from F-bodys for a good while now, but any lighted mirrors are welcome addition. Especially helpful if you have T-tops. The stock opera lights give you absolutely no overhead lighting up front.
