BUILD THREAD The Mullet Maurader, The Epic of the LS swapped Buick

Turna, these are actually some of the things I came across that got me started diagnosing. I am starting to think it's a sticking rear servo now, as it worked the first time but now doesn't fully engage.

Did you put a new low/reverse band in when you rebuilt it?

Unfortunately, I didn't. It was a VERY low mile GM rebuild that had a torque converter bushing failure so I more or less did a replacement of failed hard parts and installation of HD-3 kit. In hindsight I should have replaced the band but it was all like brand new inside so I felt like I could risk it.

Minor thread update. Picked up the trans today from the shop. Got to see first hand exactly what I screwed up.

Diagnosis of failure was:
Wrong pump for case, causing lack of lubrication on the front end, destroying the direct, overrun, overdrive and planet's. The sprag disintegrated along with some bushings and glitter bombed the metal sensitive stuff in the front section.
So pretty much all my fault.

So here is the build list. Seeing as it was not too much more to just replace the failed stuff with billet 300m stuff, alto reds & kolene steels.

The definition of happy and sad was paying that bill....

Here she is, reborn and ready to absorb my full retard ideas. Warranty to 1200hp. 😍

To fully be a race trans Injectedcutty and I agreed that stickers were in order.

This is still bothering his OCD.

Going to find a new home for the car tonight. Hopefully.

A new home? 😱 :wtf:

But but . . . Oh Hell, I must have missed something . . . give me a minute!

That is a lot of hard parts - well... time to give it the beans!

House shopping. I currently live in a smaller town outside of the city, moving into the city where I work, the girlfriend is, my family is, and I make 2-3 trips a day into on my days off.

Oh ya, also going to get a bigger work shop out of the deal for the car.

Last piece of the foundation is set. I'm a trans brake away from potentially being really quick.

Got a little update today.

The transmission is installed. Nothing too exciting about the install. Flushed out the trans cooler in the midst of the reinstall. Even got the exhaust to fit a little better in the suspension.

There was a pretty big push to get the car moving so I could get it to my parents place to store it.

So did some final checks and did a shakedown run. Its sounding good.

Then lined up a ride back from my parents place and made the 18 mile run to drop it off. It drove pretty nice but cruise timing needs adjustment, it barely stayed cool at 75mph at 30c (86f). But the trans shifts right, TCC works mint and it made it uneventfully.

Need to gear up for the body work now.
