Quite a change in direction. You need to decide just how fast you plan on going and build your car accordingly. How much cage is needed, HP, rpm you plan on making that power, and make sure your drive train components compliment each other. Under 10 I would recommend a glide. Another thing to remember, classes the run that fast are usually 1/8 th mile.

I was up until 3 am researching exactly what I needed and local rules. Lol

Almost bought a Hellcat Charger 2 weeks ago so I had some soul searching to do about the regal. TH400 seems to be the leading choice. Gonna post the T56 for sale today so we will see what happens.

If it was a dedicated drag car a glide would probably work well, but if you are going to be street driving I would go with the 400, also you could always add a GearVendors if you want a bulletproof OD if the budget allows.

Got the 9” housing primed today. Tested out the new HVLP gun and did my first non rattle can painting. I think it turned out pretty good.

Feels good to be moving forward again. 🙂

Got the 9” housing pained up. The local auto body supply place recommended some endura since I wanted to be kinda cheap and needed a good finish. I figured it was the same stuff we got the heavy trucks and equipment at work painted with so it must be tough.

Turns out it makes a hell of a nice finish. 2 coats of 2k primer and 2 coats of endura Black and it looks pretty good. First time painting and other than a few drips here and there it turned out nice.

Might have to get a daylight pic, I’m no Donovan or Hafrod but I’m pretty excited about it.

Did a little kijiji shopping yesterday. Got the transmission situation sorted out anyway.

Came across a “rebuilt” TH400, pretty sure the guy was legit because he met me in a hemi powered 426 1968 Charger and had a hellcat Challenger in the garage. Then took a hour and a half drive to find a 3000 stall B&M converter for it. Also a super cool guy that had a beauty 1966 Impala.

Then on the way back a set of L92 823 casting LS3 heads followed me home. Low mile take offs with all the fixins.

He just happened to have the AFR box from his head swap to let me have.

Today I’m going to rescue a suitable cam for all this new goodness. A 236/246 .623 .623 116 degree lobe separation monster.

Starting to think a .30 over LQ4 won’t be enough motor. Might need to get a stroker kit for it this winter instead of doing a basic rebuild.

Anyone need a Holley 302-2 ls oil pan? 😉

Had a progress day, and sh*t has officially gotten real. No longer a runner!

Out with you 200-4R, no one will miss your inability to handle abuse!

Off to Calgary to pawn my cast offs to someone who will appreciate it more. Pick up some buckets and a console!
