Thanks guys for the info! 😀

So today even if it was 25° outside I battled the cold to get my car street ready. I connected the drive shaft to the car while the car was still up in the air. Turned key and had to crawl under the car to shift into drive. I was testing the diff. If it made any funny noises etc. Looks like its all systems go! Spun it up to maybe 40mph and gave a few high accel's and it seems great. Next step before I can drop the wheels is, connect the shift cable to the trans and the shifter. After that is street test time 😛. I miss driving this olds. I honestly think the steering wheel gave the car a whole new feel along with the new interior and color. Have yet to order my seats but I soon will.

Its worse when you have driven a project car before and cant anymore than a project car that you have never driven.
If I get time in I get that video of a test drive that o promesed before..

So today was wayyy to cold to work on the ground. Instead I did some interior work. I cut and trimmed the carpet for the center sonsole and shifter. I have yet to finish a whole lot.

Got to dye the center console. It needed a freshen up due to the fact it was beat. But there was no problem restoring the console. All my burgundy parts came from a 83 cutlass. Seat belts and panels center console and steering column. So any way after the console was dyed I retouched some edges that where originaly silver with my special silver leaf paint pen. This pen has done real well touching up the dash and other small parts it cost me a mere $5. Its a well spent 5 dollar bill. Well it speaks for its slef.

I will keep dyeing random small pieces from the interior and change out the pass door panel. That will wrap up the dyeing part of the interior.
But I just realized something about my car that I said I would do but never did. Fix those gravel shields that are fading. My car does have gravel shields 8) I know not many people dig it but I do. I will have to remove them and have do spray em up and retouch the OLDSMOBILE logo. I don't think any one sells these so I bet there a hard to find object. So I cant let the olds logo fade away.

I like a thread with many pics and detail...
here is a pic of the part that covers the shifter I decided to add a little touch but careful not to get carried away.

Polished the door sill plates. Took me a couple of days to get the right technique. What I used was a foam sanding block its maybe a 600 grit by now. Not too rough just enough to scuff it up. Wet sand! Next I used 1500 sand paper. At the begining it leaves fine scratches put keep going at it and a shine will come through. Oh and the 1500 was dry sant not wet. I tried steel wool it would polish on some spots but then all of a sudden leave a hazy grey color... But now these plates shine like it was 1987 all over again.
