Thermal switch

There's a thought- does the rear port have coolant? Can you move it to the front?
It does have coolant. I think it has a bad ground on the motor when I can I am going to redo the wire to it. But I am not sure why it would run when the switch is grounded?

Bypass the switch, make sure the rest of the system is working. I thought my thermal probe wasn't working new out of box, no a bad relay.

What am I missing with these instructions? Should the relay be grounded? It has five pins but only 4 wires. I have battery hot and keyed hot. One wire to my thermal switch and one wire to the fan.

Therm switch is the ground for the relay. You said it comes on if you ground it, right? That eliminates everything but the switch or its ability to provide ground to triger the relay.

What would keep it from providing a ground?

It might go open when you tighten it. I had a 2 wire one fail once; it's been good since I replaced it.. Just for sh!ts & giggles, wrap a piece of wire around the switch and ground it. If it works as it should, you'll know the switch isn't grounded in the manifold.

I thought so too but the rear port is the same size as the switch. The front port is larger so I got a 1/2 to 3/8 bushing to move it up front. Comes on about 195 and off at 180.
