Hopefully this will turn into an easy fix. Went back to the radiator shop that got me the tank. Guy says if I bring the tank back he'll heat up the solder or braze, pull it out, cut it and solder/braze it back at the right length. I just picked up a scrap tank from someone I know so I can compare the filler length. Worst thing is I have to respray it when its done.

Thanks for the offer but I think Im good for now. Only thing that might hold this up is this leg thing. I have to wait for a night that my buddy can come over and drop the tank and put the scrap one up to make sure the necks the right length. I just hope the new tank has the right shaped neck because the neck on the scrap tank is pretty beat up. Worst case, I have to order a new neck.

Thought you guys would like a quick update. My buddy came over today and dropped the straps down one at a time. After about an hour of tweaking, pulling, bending and pushing we got the tank to move forward enough to clear the door. The filler neck on the new tank was actually the same length as the scrap one I got to compare it to so that told us everything we needed to know. Another thing finished.
