I came on here 3 weeks ago talking about the ticket I recieved for allowing my brother to drive my car without a liscence. I said the ticket would cost me 1000 dollars in drivers responsibility fees over a 2 year period. The lawyer said he would charge me 100 if the case is on the same days as my brothers and 400 if its not. Well I got it in the mail today. Turns out its not the same day as my brothers. I have a pretrial meeting whatever the **** that is on the 4th of next month. What I am beginning to wonder is a lot of things. 1 should I go ahead with the lawyer and pay the 400 that i do not have. I will have to borrow money from friends I just payed off so I can even afford it. If I lose ill have the misdemanor on my record for god knows how long, and ill be lucky to go to law school as I planned. 2 do I go and complain at my brother for not driving with the mother ****ing headlights on and just the parking lights. I insist that he pay at least half the goddamn ticket which I believe he is mostly at fault. or 3 do I say the hell with it and not get the lawyer and try my best to fight the ticket. I am going to be paying more then my brother if I lose and still more even if I win the case and have the case dropped. I am so sick to my stomach talking about this. I just want to punch a ****ing wall. I mean my brother has potentially ruined my life all over a goddamn router. He had complained for 4 days how Id broken the router looking at porno. Yet I had explained how the router and high speed internet port break over time. I was even nice enough to allow him to drive my car I had not slept in 30 somthing hours due to work and homework the night before and the election as well. My one friend said I should sue my brother, what do you guys think and how do you do it.

I would pay the $400. It's not a lot of money compared to the cost of the rest of your life. Yes, b*tch at your brother, but suing him may cause family complications long after this is over with, so don't sue.
I may come off like a dick here but, you knew your brother didn't have a license and you let him drive anyway. It was your car so it is your responsibility. Your brother got a ticket too? He has to take responsibility for his part too. Even if his "share" isn't going to be as expensive as yours is, but you were the responsible licensed party here. Why fight the ticket? You're guilty, correct? I don't think a misdemeanor is going to ruin your life, although I'm not a lawyer. What the he!! kind of friend tells you to sue your own family, your own brother? Don't ever piss off this friend of yours, who needs enemies...
By the way about two months ago my 15yo niece, who doesn't have her license but her permit, is still allowed to drive the cars and truck around, was stopped for speeding in my mothers car. So my mother also got a ticket. My mom was like well I let her drive without a license so I gotta pay (not exact words) but she took responsibility.

through some more and I am just going to pay the ticket. An answer to the idiots question who posted before me. I dont exactly get along with my family. My brother does many things that I do not agree with and thats wehre im leaving that. I dont break laws, I ran a light once and thats the only law ive ever broke. My brother should have realized hey I dont have a liscence I can wait till tomarrow and ask nate to take me to the store to get the computer part we need so I can sit on my sorry *ss and play my video game. And here I thought at I was in a bad mood! Seriously though, it is very easy for someone to say the logical/moral thing you should do if it is not your life that is affected. I stand by my original assessment of using the lawyer. Do what you want, but I think it is the best option. Just remember not to take what you read on the internet too seriously. (I like to go off on bitchy tirades too, so I don't hold it against you. )

I know it, I just dont know why someone would go on a website to put someone down. I have heard the bullshit enough from my own family about how bad of a person I am all the time. I dont need to hear it ya know. I am going to just pay the lawyer. I have to pray to god if there even is one for my friends to keep their promises of borrowing me money. Otherwise im going to be going to court to get my *ss kicked pretty much and make a fool of myself. Then id be lucky to even drive because of that 1000 dollar crazy fine thats pretty much worth laughing at. Funny 5 years go before my gov. granholm who I personally hate enacted driver respons. bs id prolly be paying no more then 75 bucks ahha. Well I guess there goes doing a V8 swap or getting the rust damage fixed. I swear everytime something good happens its followed by a swift kick in my *ss. Everytime. I dont know what it means, if thats life then someone shoot me please.

wow. You let your brother drive the car. Dont blame it on him. Dont say he should have known better. You are an adult, you gave him the keys, YOU should have known better. Take responsibility for your actions, and while you're at it, enroll in some anger management classes. Its not the end of the world, and trust me it wont "ruin the rest of your life".
