Oh buddy, just you wait and see!
These cars are the Lego starter packs of the car world.
The more money you have the better expansion kits you can buy. I can't even keep my credit cards in my wallet they are so damn hot right now!!!!

Makes me want to bring my build thread over here..
My teg is the reason my cutlass hasn't gotten the attention it deserves.

Did some little odds and ends milling about waiting on a package to be delivered. Got the DA integra knuckles that recently received new bearings cleaned up and ready for paint. Also cleaned up the rear disc trailing arms but didn't get around to ripping those apart yet.
Then I cut the front end of the car off!

Mocked up the front end with all the new/ new-old metal

Fit on the inner fender was rough because none of the existing metal was straight and I didn't grab a large enough clip so it was a prossess of guess, check, then guess some more.
Then decided to stop procrastinating and started burning some of it in.....

Has a long way to go but I'm very encouraged by what is happening on it so far!

I've gotten more positive feed back on this thread than on any of the Honda sites... do it, I'd like to see it!

Haha, thats funny right there!

I always check out the import builds. I like seeing what people come up with. 😀

Based on various posts on the board I never figured anybody would care much lol. Maybe I will go ahead and do that later.

really is a testament to the g body people.
Either they dont dig the imports and are polite enough to keep their mouths shut, or they just like cars in genral and are really positive about any project.
yeah and I too started this thread by way of explanation of why the caballero isnt getting any love lately!

Got some stuff sorted today.
I dropped the cross member to address the steering rack (poly bushings and manual conversion) also to address the broken sway bar bolts
2 on the passengers side one on the drivers

What I do in this case is build up solid tack welds on the broken bolt
Place a nut around the built up tacks
Then gob on lots of weld as hot as I can

Then periodically as the weld cools I spray it with PB blaster until its cool to the touch. Then I turn the broken bolt out.
Sometimes it takes a few attempts however today I got lucky and was able to get all 3 on the first try.

I forgot to take pictures of the process but yesterday on the rear upper control arms; I cut a slice down the length of the adaptor collet and drilled a hole in it
I then slid the bushing collet into place inside the adaptor collet, compressed it tightly and plug welded the drilled hole.
Then ground down the plug weld. Then I cut about 1/8" across the length of the upper control arm collet and drilled a hole in it.
I then slid the welded bushing and adapter collets into the upper control arm collets; compressed them all together tight and welded both the drilled out hole and both the adapter and control arm collets slits as one weld.... ground everything smooth and painted.
Good bit of work as I had to do it four times but I was pleased with the results

Today I assembled them with the poly bushings.... very pleased

Also pressed in the poly bushings into the front upper controle arms
As well as the small links at the front of the rear trailing arms
