When you can see better in the daylight, try and find the casting number. It is on the engine block on the front next to the oil fill tube. Look at the base of the tube and look to the right. You should see some numbers. With that engine looking as old as it does, and having what seems to be ALL the factory components, it looks like a dealer installation from back in the 90s, or maybe even late 80s with a new Olds 307. If it's a 307, don't worry. A 350 olds, or a 403 swaps in there without a sweat.

These are the only numbers that I saw but I'll look again tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

That, is the firing order of the cylinders. In the picture it shows the front of the block and where the number is located. You might need to move aside some hoses and stuff to see it, but it's there. That will tell exactly if it's a 307, a 350, or a true reman engine. There is the possibility that someone just got the valve covers off of a reman as well. Stickers in my mind mean almost nothing.

There is a long series of numbers that will be there, not just the letter the picture is pointing to. Get those numbers and you're golden.

Okay. Tomorrow I will know what it is and we'll go from there. Thank you!

The last late '70s Olds 350 block I picked up had a "350" cast into the side of the block just above the frost plugs. Put the front end on jack stands and have a look from underneath... you may not see anything from the top down because of the manifolds.
