I can post a pic tomorrow if it helps as to what I mean....Check your linkage at the firewall for binding and check if the shift lever on the transmission is missing a plastic bushing that the shift rod slips into. If you don't see anything mechanically wrong then lubricate all moving parts and lubricate your shift cable at both ends with a light oil.

Okay sounds like music to my ears..... so what are some things I can do to see if I can get it going againThere is a good chance that the transmission is alright. It sounds like the cable may be holding the lever between detents and sending fluid to places it shouldn't.

Come to think of it also I don't have the proper parts on bracket just held on by wires.... I'll send pics once I'm off of work..... Sorry should've done that.Some good pics might help.
