Trying to decide on wheels

Well, I got the Outlaws on the car last night... One thing is for sure, the 255/60-15 is the perfect size tire. I LIKE the wheels on the car, but I don't love them.

and I had a pleasant surprise when I pulled the tires off the rally wheels. They are original Vette rallys from 1969 - AZ code. I am not sure if they are rare, but I was happy to find the codes anyway 🙂 Now to sell some stuff and get my front rallys... I may go with a 6" wide front, and run a 215/60-15 in front. Still a decent width, and will look good if I drop the front 2"

255/60 looks good on a Cutlass, 275/60 looks even better IMO.....I run a 275MT DR on the same stock Monte wheels you have, looks amazing....but then again its my car so I have to say that 😉

I think all three wheels can look good if they are on the right car but I agree that when I see Rally's, right away I think Chevy, turbine I'm thinking Buick and the only thing about the Centerlines is I think with them being solid (with no openings) they just kind of date themselves to pre-80's like before people realized that your brakes would like to breath also.
To me if you put a rim on for any other reason than you really like the style of it, along with it properly fitting your car then anything else will just be a compromise.

Personally I like the turbines...

My reason for this is they are different and rarely seen. All the other choices are on a sh*t ton of cars and to me are over done. Just my opinion. I agree w/ others though. Pick a rim that fits the image you have of your car.

took my cutlass to work today- I love taking pictures of it in my work parking lot-
Last night, I was telling my wife I couldn't believe how much I like the Outlaws on the car, but now that I see it out in the open, I don't like them as much. Really, I think I like the tire size more than anything. It does make me want to lower it a little bit though... too much wheel gap in front, and maybe about an inch too much in back as well... I think I want to stay with the 255/60-15 in back and not 100% sure on fronts yet- the width of my front rims will change that- if I go with a 6" front rim, I will run a 216/60-15 and if I run a 7" wide rim I may go with a 235/60-15 tire.

I should be able to get my rallys cleaned up and straighten the dent out this weekend. Maybe get them panited.

I think the rallys will definately be my choice on wheels though. Then it's just a matter of figuring out what color to paint it. I may go with the standard 442 metallic gray, or a 70's olive green metallic like this car:

i know this car has been posted a million tims on the forum- not sure if they are a member, but this is pretty much what I want my car to look like- same wheels, same color, similar ride height... If this is your car sorry for re-using your pictures so many times 🙂

Bought my 2 front rims today from Summit - repop 15x7" rallys - With a coupon they were $103 shipped. Now to find a great deal on some tires... Gonna go with 215/60-15 in front, and stick with either a 255/60-15 in rear or I may go with a 50 series in rear- not sure yet...

well, I ordered my front rallys last night- new from summit with a $20 off coupon, I got a pair of 15x7's for $103. Easier than finding good cheap used ones. The rears I started cleaning up tonight with a wire wheel, but really need to be sand blasted. Had my buddy come over and help with the body work too. Car is slowly coming along. I decided on a 215/60-15 front tire anyway because the 215/65-15 is a little too tall- it doesn't rub anything now, but it is really close everywere, and when I drop the car I want to make sure it clears.

I'm a big fan of 17" wheels but that malibu is perfect. I want a 2 door so bad.
