I guess my main thing is, yes, we need progress, but what kind? How do you define it? The problem we have is, basically, that we're out of balance with nature. So the solution must be to find a new balance. Electric promises that, but where things stand now it really only does so superficially, while it gets us out of balance in "new, improved" ways.

A big part of the problem is that our consumeristic economy is based on never ending growth which can't be sustained forever. Even just a slight slow down in growth can grind the economy to a halt. However, natural resources are finite and can't sustain eternal growth so they keep finding ways to prop the economy and growth up as long as they can. This is why many of the big shots are openly into the great reset BS, to rebuild the economy into a cyber version of feudalism. Where instead of owning stuff, you can only rent, lease, or subscribe stuff. This increases revenue streams, further growing the economy without actually producing more physical goods or using more resources. Environmentalism is pretty much just a smokescreen to hide the true motives. Granted that even most of the ideas in the great reset are just pipe dreams of the top 1% but they have the power to cause a lot of suffering if they even get a fraction of it into fruitarian.

Just look at software, most of the time you don't really own the software you buy, you just have a user agreement, including the software that runs many modern cars. This has been the case since the 80's so there is already precedent in diminishing ownership rights. Sadly EVs are one of the many stepping stones laid out by the great reset. Anything that is digitized can be made to be remotely controlled and monetized. Its why Teslas have so many paywalls and microtransaction upgrades.

Agreed, and that is because sheeple parents believe the government's lies that government is the best teacher/babysitter for all children.
Geesh, I thought that was an iPhone.

Regarding the 'great reset', I'm good with one a day, sometimes two if I ate egg salad in the previous 24 hours.

lets not start. thanks.

Scared?

I rarely (never) agree with him on most subjects - but, he's on point here. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Scared? Of what some cockamamie internet conspiracy bs? Hardly. Take it someplace else. Same as always.
