Re: Stickers = Fast
good eye JBreu,
yeah, she definitly spins alot... I do pull back on the throttle, but she'll still burn thru 1st and a bit into 2nd even at 3/4 throttle. I've got the launch down pat, I'm not worried. And when I use slicks, she hooks and goes.
I'm more concerned about my trap speed. She seems to fall flat on the top end, and I don't know why. You can see the motor struggling in the first video, that's cuz the valves weren't opening.
But she sounds pretty healthy now after fixing the lash, and some minor tuning. But she still won't pull good trap speeds... If she can pull a good 100mph on street tires, I know I'll hit low 13s, and even 12s.
I'm not expecting 12s on this track... this place is a sh*t-hole... you can see the car bouncing around on pot holes and bumps. And the 60ft pad is never cleaned and caked with rubber.

Cam OK after you took out the lifters ?? Burning any oil ? And how much junk is in the trunk ( I plan to ditch a couple hundred punds of stereo gear over the winter myself ? Is your timing breaking down as it didn't sound too healthy in the fist vids.
when I raced last year, a couple rockers came loose, and I blew a few push rods. I don't have a trailer and I can't afford a tow, so I pulled the bad rods out, took off the rockers, and drove home on 7 cylinders. When I opened it up, one lifter had un-seated itself. It looked fine, so I put it back in it's bore. All the other lifters seemed okay... no scratches, looked flat. I installed new rods, and lashed them properly.
I don't think I've damaged anything. I took a look at everything before I put it back together, and it all looked fine. And the car runs smooth and comfortably. It pulls very steady vacuum, idles smooth, and revs nicely.
When I race, I empty the trunk, and fill it up with gas. I leave the spare tire and jack in, so I can get some weight on the right tire. Sometimes, if I'm not feeling lazy, I take off the push-bar. I run a full interior and drive the car everyday during the summer.
