They did use the B pillar trim on Landau cars in '81. What you had was the cabriolet vinyl top which is the same but with out the Landau trim/RPO.

Lucky me. I like the b pillar I have better.

Dealers will do ANYTHING to sell one "today". You want "this" car, but with the landau top, no problem, well have it ready tomorrow.

I can't tell you how many pearl white Maximas we swapped parts around on back in the late 90s/early 2000s to "make the sale" for a local Nissan dealer.

I cringe at all those dealer installed 3rd brake light flasher modules. They seem to run rampant on Korean import cars around here.

I know they claim it's for safety but all I can think is it's annoying, not DOT approved, a dealer addon profit generator like under coating, and what a nightmare to your taillights wiring harness.

Yeh but...... It makes the car "rare" My "rare" 87 SS has the "rare" dealer installed 4 front headlights 🙂
