I have run several sets of Edelbrock rpm heads that have flat tappet springs but ran hyd roller camshafts,so what's the deal with that?

the roller lifters are heavier so that requires heavier springs....the spring itself isn't a different design

If it works for you, then stick with it. Would any of these engines rev past 4500 rpms?

I agree but you have to be careful with valve float cause that could destroy roller lifters pretty qick

Hence the "Would any of these engines rev past 4500 rpms?". I was kidding. Seriously buy the right valve springs. If you think you have the right valve springs then use them. At some point the decision will rear it's ugly head. Probably at about 6000 rpms. All because of $150? If you can afford "several" sets of Edelbrock heads, then you can afford springs.

I ran Vortec heads and springs on a hydraulic flat tappet cam and it pulled clean to 6500rpm.

Betcha could just run some garden variety LS6/9 springs and see good results.

If your just driving around not doing much high rpm you might be alright but if your trying to turn some rpm you'll find out real quick and you'll be very unhappy ,as Pontiacgp said it destroys roller lifter pretty easy idk about you but I wouldn't want all them little roller needles through my motor when one would let loose
