We actually sell most of our oil to the US. So much of it, we have to import the sh*t from the middle east to cover eastern Canada.
I am all for stopping that and keeping it all for our selves or subsidies like Venezuela does.
Fact is, since all this conflict in Iraq which most of the world was against, is when the prices shot up.
Prices have been going up all over the world since then.
Hmmm didn't GW use his veto power to go into Iraq? Things were starting to settle down in Afghanistan or the oil prices were anyways so he started another war to keep them up.
Blinded America with speeches about patriotism and protecting the nation.
Iraq was never a threat. We knew that after the first gulf war that lasted about a month before the Iraqi troops surrendered by the thousands.

Well, no actually. Bush did not use Veto authority to go into Iraq. Since a Veto is essentially saying no, how could it be used to say yes? Congress declares war, not the President. He can ask for a declaration of war, but he himself cannot declare war on his own. Do you even know what a veto is? Basically a President has the ability to essentially check yes or no on a bill, which is sent to him by Congress. A Bill is a proposed legislative action. If the President signs it into law, and it is not contested in the Supreme Court, then declared unconstitutional, it becomes the law of the land. If he Vetoes it, it does not become a law unless the congress overrides it by a 2/3 majority vote. So, if Bush Vetoed the war in Iraq, we would not have gone. Please do not think you understand our government from up there in the Great White North, as it is obvious to me that you have no idea what you are talking about. Our form of government is very different from your Parlimentary system. We have no prime minister, and we do not still hold any place for a ceremonial Queen of a foreign land. We also do not have a somewhat autonomous region of our nation set aside for people who speak French.

Now, I have nothing against Canada, nor the British. If they wish to pay the world's richest welfare recipient and her family millions of Pounds Sterling a year, that's their business. They can put up cameras everywhere, and take away guns from everyone in the name of "safety" too, for all I care. Then, if they so choose, the Canadians can sell off the rights to their tar sand deposits to China if they like. And hey, I may have even gotten a few facts wrong about these other countries. After all, I don't live there. Just don't sit here and preach to me about my country when you can't even get basic facts right about the powers delegated to the different branches of my government, and make an ignorant assertion based on your errant theories.

Enlighten me please.
Well from the way we see it it is GW pushes for this and GW pushes for that.
Veto means yes or no.
Was in not Bush or a republican member of congress that brought the war in Iraq before congress?
I may be wrong. But I do watch the news. And not CNN.
Truth is, I don't give 2 sh*ts about the American system.
I don't give 2 sh*ts about the Canadian one either. Hey its the Canadian way. Most of us don;t talk politics because we usually have better things to talk about.
But it doesn't take a political expert to see that when the leader of a country is a rich oil tycoon, the only reason your in a war with a country in an oil rich region, is for his gain. Not the gain of the country.
It was all hidden behind talk of WMDs that don't exist and protecting a nation 9/11 etc.
Vote the right person in this november and end that damn war.
No need for more lives lost over there. No need for any of them in the first place.
On a side note, be thankful he is gone either way this year. He really makes your country look bad to the rest of the world.

As I have said 3 times now, a veto is only a no. As I also stated, Bush brought the war before Congress, where an overwhelming majority of BOTH parties voted for it. It was not just a Republican thing. Even the Marxist Hillary Clinton voted yes on declaring war on Iraq, as well as Afghanistan.

Afghanastan I agree with, in fact we are over there too. Our first casualties came at the hands of the Americans by the way.
But maybe your right. I may have got some facts mixed up. It was the UN that was against the war in Iraq and you went in anyways.
So now the whole country looks bad, not just its leader.

How is it you can impeach a president for getting a blow job but you fully support a president that wants to invade a country that didn't attack you, with out support from the UN?

this actually does not apply to iraq. it's a general statement.
F%^K the un. when they have the slightest problem they come running to us for troops and money. but if our troops need support, the un guys disappear. plus anytime we've gone to the un for support they've screwed us. and now they want to tax the us to pay their bills. then there's the law of the sea treaty. we might as well hand everything we own to third world tyrants.
