You have the parts to covert it to a hardtop and would prefer that it is a hardtop then that is the route I would go instead of spending more money to replace something that should have never been there to start with.

Prep as in remove all trim, prime, paint, repair rust, etc. Basically just paying for the material and labor.I was quoted around $400 a few years ago by a shop in my area (north side of Houston). They didn't specify how much or little disassembly/reassembly that included.
