Info from Wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_44

# Ring Gear measures 8.5 inches (216 mm)
# OEM Inner axle shaft spline counts are 10, 19, 30, 32, 33 and 35
# Pinion shaft diameter: 1.375"
# Pinion shaft splines: 26
# Gear ratios range from 2.72:1 to 5.89:1

Based on ring gear size I'd say yes, they're stronger. What spline count you can upgrade to is beyond me, I don't know Dana axles.

Last time i went down to visit family in Mexico the Dodge Ramcharger was still being produced. It looked like a 2dr Durango and IMO was a good looking SUV. It's been GRIP since i went but almost went through and bought one. Till i found out it the emissions standards are WAY different..... Plus it wasn't as easy to get a Mexican built vehicle registered around here. :x

Now that's a Ramcharger I could drive 8) If you look though you'll notice the front clip is from a Ram instead of a Durango.

That's exactly what i was trying to get a pic of. My uncle was willing to get one and pass it to me till i did the "research" and found out it was easier to get something around here easier and cheaper to get. I did make a mistake and say they look like Durango's when they do look more a Ram. Still i would get one....
