That really sucks, out of all the parked cars they could have hit why did it happen to the one that cannot be replaced. I hope they can fix that damage....
That sucks! Maybe I'm getting old and I'm also guilty to a point, but I make it a priority to limit phone usage while driving. Most importantly to me, so my daughter doesn't pick up the habit. I can't speak for the wife, though. 🙄 These people with it glued to their hand driving down the highway baffle me.
I don't use my phone at all when I'm driving, if it's so important for someone to contact me I'm driving I can't help them anyway, they need to call 911
About 6 years ago I saw a silver 63' + split window Corvette that got rear ended waiting to pull into a car show at a Chevy dealer, it was on Van Dyke in a 45 MPH zone so I am guessing the average car behind him was distracted.

That's terrible. I hope they are able to fix it. The end of the article suggests they won't let this incident wreck what is important to them.
The distracted driving was bad enough, but the attempt to flee shows the self absorption of the driver. At least turning it into a hit and run might result in a better chance for some sort of justice in the end.
I don't ever recall Buff Whelan having a car show... but I can see that type of accident happening there.

I think it was Buff Whelan or possibly another dealer next to them but I figured if the Vette was going it had to be the Chevy dealer but I know I didn't know anything about a car show there but there were a lot of cars there and it was backed up getting in.

This is a good reminder why you guys with your great looking rides should get them appraised in case someone runs into you. You don't want the insurance company to put the book value on it to say the repairs are higher than the value of the car or if the unspeakable happens and the car is beyond repair you want to get the appraised value and not the book value
