What are you drinking tonight?

If root beer, then why not Root Beer Schnapps? Used to pick up a bottle of the stuff at the Lake Aire Bottle Shop on London Road, just past the junction of US 61 and I-35. Think the distiller or company was Phillips. Couple of oz of the schnapps and top off the glass with A&W Root Beer and kick back. I do still have the old school heavy glass mugs, at one point you could actually buy them from the outlet.

There's still a brand sold under Dr Mcgillicudys (sp?) we have some in the bar somewhere

Uh-um, Dr. McGillicuddy's according to bing. but either spelling and I still recognize the name. Not available up here. Can't even get a bottle of McCallums Perfection Scotch anymore... miserable bunch of soulless heathen sassenachs.

Note of caution here. Stay away from the newest version of no sugar coke, red label or whatever. It is both flat and bitter at the same time. Best version of Coca Cola out there is, surprise, made in Mexico. Stuff comes in at my local supermarket chain. 16 oz bottle/4pk. Has all the bite and buzz of the genuine quill. I buy a couple of 4 packs when I see it and stash the stuff in the basement fridge. Excellent treat all by itself.

Tonight it’s my old standby
Appletons and coke
The double doubles (4 oz mix )are bittersweet as I am drinking to the memory of my best friend roommate and mechanic tonight
We invented the double double term one nite to mean a 4 oz drink - we thought we were being witty lol
Gets you messy in a hurry if you don’t be careful lol
Fentanyl will kill YOUR friends too if you aren’t careful , if your friends do that sh*t help them stop . I didn’t even know my buddy was doing it til the paramedics and cops told me
They found it in his room … I should have known a 47 year old man can’t hold down two full time jobs like he did without chemical intervention
Anyway … just drinking and thinking
And hoping no else will have to go through this

Bummer dude, the lack of regulation makes that stuff especially dangerous. Cheers. I'm having IPA with a side of 4 Roses bourbon, but not mourning tonight.

Tomorrow we head for the mountains to do some winter camping.

That sounds like fun but I hate being cold so I’d be miserable lol
I’d have lunch ready when you all got back 😎

I’m not really mourning anymore , hope that’s past
Just remembering my friend

Still made with real cane sugar and not corn syrup junk or artificial sweetners makes all the difference.

Last I heard (IIRC) Mexican Coke was now using corn syrup just in different proportions.

Personally I have a bad Coke Zero addiction. I know it's not healthy. I've tried switching to coffee and it just doesn't work.
