When I was in the engineering department at the university of rhode island we had a department supply you had to buy your materials from for experiments. As as a major I had access, and their alcohol was potable. We actually had our own dorm on campus as well, egr majors could request to be in it with priority, although non-egr got second choice. It was the most popular bid building where even assigning full points didn't always get non non majors in.When my Dad was in the rehab hospital after the war, the rubbing alcohol was drinkable. They bought the stuff in 45 gallong drums and decanted it into smaller containers as necessary. Only the nurses and the doctors were supposed to have access to what was supposed to be a high security locker for the stuff, But Dad mentioned that one of the other guys on the ward had figured out how to crack the lock! Apparently orange juice got to be really popular for a while until someone got wise to the whole deal. Don't think they ever figured out who poached the hootch though.
The local liquor stores still sell pure grain alcohol in gallon bottles across the counter. if you are doing some kind of jungle juice or spiking watermelons, the stuff is as good as any.
Oh, yeah, for the Canadians out that way, Edmonton in Alberta Cda is having its annual beer festival once again. Didn't happen last year--Covid. Lots of boutique breweries and small batch businesses.

I'm taking the night off, but will crack a few open around 3am or so. Tonight's scifi Saturday night on MeTV. So I'll stay up to see everything, then when the shows are about over we'll probably hit some hard cider.Water.
Aquafina.
Taking the night off.
Basic, yes, but I make it a point to partake every time I find myself back east.

Drank a lot of Yuengling when I lived in North Carolina but missed it when I moved to Texas, used to buy it in Shreveport and bring it home. Thankfully they started distributing it here in August.
