What Car Do You Love to Hate?

i really can't nail it down to just one car. i have to agree that it's the trailer queens that completely piss me off. let's look at jay leno. he has some of the rarest cars on earth, and he drives them! he even helps work on 'em. then you've got some schmuck with a 57 bel air who's done NOTHING ,not even put fuel in it, and the car sits around doing less than congress. that's not a car it's a book end.

That's a difficult question. I hate a lot of cars. Let's see...

- Anything with GM's 2.8L V6. I've had a few cars with that engine... two Chevy Celebrities who's head gaskets went on within a week of my buying them, plus a third that I didn't buy because I realized that the head gaskets were bad ahead of time... and an '85 Cadillac Cimmaron, which was a fantastic car, but had bad bearings (went through two engines in 98,000 miles that way!).

- Neons. Whether it be Dodge or Plymouth, something about Neons rubs me the wrong way.

- The Ford Taurus. Underpowered, even with a V8... I especially dislike the 1990s "bubble" version.

- The '80s era Chevy Nova. I will never understand how you can take a '60s and '70s muscle car and convert it into a four-cylinder rebadge of the Toyota Corolla. Sacrilege!!!

There are plenty others that I don't like... but most cars have some kind of redeeming quality. Mostly, it's the drivers of cars that I don't like.

h1 or h2/3's? the original has some really cool engineering and capabilities.

Being a mechanic I hate almost every make, model and year of car. After seeing what engineers do to us poor bastards I would like to meet one in a dark alley somewhere. That being said I have to look at the bright side and see the job security in all of these cheap cars on the road today. My least favorite would have to be when the manufacture comes out with a new car and brings back an old name. Front wheel drive cars like the nova, monte carlo, and impala make me sick.

Amen to that. I like the styling of some of the cars (I even kinda like the two-door Lumina/Monte Carlo)... and even though the V8 Impala, Monte Carlo and Grand Prix are some real monsters... I just can't get over the fact that they're front wheel drive.

I am definitely looking forward to the Pontiac G8 (which, in my mind anyway, is just a rebranding of the Grand Prix, and is bringing back RWD) and the new RWD Impala. Hopefully, that'll start to set something right again, and begin to bring balance back to the universe.

And I really wish they'd bring back the Caprice.

yeah they should make a rear wheel drive new school monte..

I think you will be pleasantly surprised in a year or two. GM is planning on a RWD Impala and Monte based on the same platform as the new Camaro and Pontiac G8.

ya today most people think the 3.8L is huge. Too bad really people don't realize a 7.0L Z06 still gets 27 mpg and get 505hp. I swear the masses of people are dumber than a brick sometimes. I drive a camaro on my college campus and i get dirty looks from the "green" students b/c they think I'm destroying to world. If they would just ask I could tell them all the emissions stuff is there and it get 26mpg.

Ignorance is the fuel for the death of the RWD. I'm not really mad about it, I'm really just sad about it. The new Camaro will be the last "new" RWD GM will make. again, too bad Ignorance is so wide spread.

And if you can fix and work on a hybrid then more power to you. To me that would be like rebuilding a 4L60E, just chuck it and get a new one. LOL!

actually i just read on the pro-touring forum from a guy who works at GM that they are cancelling the monte carlo name. considering the crap they slapped the monte name on since 88 i have to sadly agree. 😢
