What Car Do You Love to Hate?

ya old news, going to the G8 in Pontiac and i forget the new name for the Chevy. It is getting a great chassis change tough. another aussie one like the GTO. It will be boring on the outside but it will perform well.

1. Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth mini vans. I just hate them, I don't know why.

2. Chrysler Lebarons, the FWD ones. Same as above.

3. Volkswagen Jettas, or at least the '97 that the wife had. JUNK.

4. Ford Contour. Practically self destructs at 5 years 100K. The underhood wiring harness is NOT hi-temp wire. Brilliant. The wife had a '99.

5. Any FWD van, cross-over, SUV, etc. 4x4 ones are acceptable, but just barely. I hate FWD cars also, accept old full size Eldorados, Toronados, and Rivieras. Other than "wifey" cars, I've never owned a FWD. Now she has an AWD Safari van.

6. Ricers, but only if they are loud cause they sound retarded. I don't care what anyone says, they sound flipp'in terrible. Yuck.

7. Extended cab pick-ups. Come on, if you're gonna do it, step up to a crew cab. I hate short beds also, it's a truck, make it useful. (El Caminos are exempt).

8. Really expensive foreign SUVs, like the Cayenne, Lexus, Tourag, etc.

I could go on and on, since I only like a few things, but I think my point is made. I don't have a problem with people who drive this stuff, I just wouldn't want it.

I agree, except for the short bed truck w/ extended cab. I like to recline w/ out hitting the steering wheel with my knees.

and yes import luxury SUV's are worthless. And if i may add Dodge avenger, g/f had one and was broke more than any car i know.

OK, got me there. I'm 5'7", so I didn't think of that. While were on it, the rear part would be good for tool boxes, etc. I was thinking passengers. I'll reconsider. 😳

I would like to add the Aveo, UGLY.

Actually my father has a 99 silverado extended cab short truck and that's why i like it. We can put a tool box or his guitar and amps in there real easy. I agree though, they can look bad sometimes. And yes the Aveo is a new style of metro.

I will also add the dodge stratus and the PT cruiser which thank goodness is being discontinued.

here's a good stupidity award: early 90's honda civic esp. hatchbacks. we had 4 of them come into our shop with the same problem. a short circuit between the seat and the steering wheel. they all had the same mods, bumper 1/2 inch off the ground (well it used to be, since they all had pieces missing) tires rubbing the wheel wells when pointing straight forward, and power steering delete (they removed the pump--that's it), ground water sucking intakes, and last but stupidest of all a VTEC engine...with the non-VTEC ecm. oh and ignition wires STRETCHED to make them "fit". every single one needed major work just to make it run again, floated valves, hydrolock, snapped/jumped timing belts. predictably they were slower than if they were stock.

yeah they should make a rear wheel drive new school monte..

I think you will be pleasantly surprised in a year or two. GM is planning on a RWD Impala and Monte based on the same platform as the new Camaro and Pontiac G8.

Nope, no new Monte. They are supposed to do the Impala RWD but no more Monte since they don't want any 2 door coupes to compete with the Camaro.

the new impalla. it looks like a toyota, at least the last model had the round taillights. theres nothing on that car to make it impalla. im not saying its a bad car i just dont like it. v6 mustangs, 95 - 98. i had a red 97 convertable and it was a fun car but the thing was allllways in the shop and every time it was fixed, something else broke. 90 nissan 350 z. i love the way the cars look and drive, but there a PAIN IN THE A$$ to work on. 94 satun sl1. i own one and i love it and i hate it. its my first car and when i bought it, it burned oil bad and so about 2 years after i bought it i got a new engine, new trans, new shocks, new exhaust, new egr valve, new waterpump, new radiator and it still sux *ss. ford areostars, the WORST mini van ever. rwd minivan? i couldnt drive it in snow unless i filled the back with 200 lbs of play sand and even then it was a pain to drive. and the power windows would always die and the floor leaked. and the scion "toaster" car. its sooooooooo ugly and slow. i wanna smack the guys who buy them in the back of the head, like when yer kid does something stupid.

tuned port third generation camaro's and firebird's

Don't get me wrong, I love third gens, used to own one. But I cannot stand the fact that people think they are fast

I hate crew cab trucks with beds smaller than the trunk on a 1973 Chrysler Newport. I like my Nissan king cab though, it lets my seat recline and gives me the space needed for my 2 10in subs, and assorted garbage. Plus, it still has a higher rated payload capacity than my friend's wife's 2003 F-150 4x4 crew cab! ( 1350lbs vs 1,000 or so)

Also on my hated list for ruining some of the best looking cars on the road are the new BMW 3 and 5 series as well as the Z-4. WTF were they thinking? Those body lines are just plain awkward! The previous BMW 330ci was the best looking car the company ever made and I hate that they ruined it. Yet another car that went from clean to ugly is the VW Jetta and Golf ( Rabbit). I don't like them either. Cars seem to be getting uglier every year.

On the Japanese front, the B12 Sentra Sport Coupe ( 1986-90) was weird looking. It's odd because it was one of 3 2 door models offered on the Sentra that generation. The boxy 2 door sedan looked better to me. Also, anyone remember the Subaru SVX? ( is that what it was called?) The oddball 2 door coupe with only half the window opening on the doors and the top half was stationary? Ugly. Scion XA--the non boxy 4 door one. I'll take the boxy one instead-at least it's just boring and not hideous.

More American cars: Saturn Ion, Saturn SL1 or 2, Saturn SC1 or 2 and Saturn Vue. The only good looking cars Saturn ever made are the Sky and Aura. Chevy Cobalt. Take a Cavalier and change the way it looks slightly and make it's roofline look awkward and you have a Cobalt. Chevy Aveo. It's made by Daewoo--enough said. New Dodge Dakota. It just looks wrong as does the Nitro. Jeep Compass. Cheap ploy to sell more cars by rebadging a Dodge Caliber and calling it a Jeep, and while I am on Jeep, WTF is up with the huge new Wrangler? 4 doors? 2wd? and it's ugly too.
