What color to paint with blue interior

Change the interior to red. Simple. 🙂

Obviously when it comes to colors, everyone has their choices/opinions.

Why not go retro 70s with the 2 tone white/blue, best of both worlds? They both would compliment the blue interior, or vice versa. Shade of blue, to pop, would need some metallic of course.

Not saying to paint it exactly like this, but you could consider something similar. A pearl white topside or something with say, some small amount of blue flake in it here and there as a final fog color coat, with some medium, or darker metallic teal blue as the bottom color. There's a million combinations and I'd probably have to go through a bunch of examples to decide which way I wanted to go. Just thinking out loud.

I think silver, or a silver blue color would go well with a blue interior.

Getting exterior/interior colors right can drive you crazy. One wrong color on either choice can make a car look like crap. I went through it when my wagon was being painted. Every time the shop tried to mix the factory fern gray it sprayed out a light green. In the end I went with a Nissan color. I wanted the closest match to the factory color with ultra fine flakes. I also wound up respraying all the interior plastics a color that looked better than the original greenish gray. All due to me having the seats, carpet and headliner redone. At that point I had a lot of options.
That being said, since your interior is already dark blue I would probably stick to some shade of blue or just leave it white. GM had a few nice blues back in the early 80s. Some folks think Im a little strange but I really like original colors on older cars. Just go on bing or google images and search for blue Malibus. There has to be a ton of pictures out there.

Growing up a neighbor had an Impala that was a real light almost white blue with blue interior. That with multiple layers of clear may look nice. The multiple layers of clear could be polished to a glass like finish. That would bring out the body work when viewed in person. Not sure how it would show in pictures though.
