Finished up V1 of power steering bracket beef up for my BBC and serpentine conversion. Had a lot of flex with the CVF bracket.. not anymore

The Kwik performance stuff won't fit nor will OEM Mk6 BBC DS brackets as the PS hangs too low and interferes with the steering box

Looking up some bolt p/n's & measurement for something else, came across the proportioning valve's bolts. Figured with all that Jr.'s brake system is getting done I ordered up a pack of 5 ARP stainless ones. I can replace mine too. For anyone who might need to replace theirs, GM's p/n 11504955 M8x1.25x50 is discontinued.

He is still dead set on only original (or as close as) parts. His exceptions for now is the Jegs dual kit, the SS wheels & a CD player.
Kids these days I just don't get them, a buddy is building an early 80s camaro as his first car and it has a super clean blue interior. He had been fighting for the longest to get a black interior going so far as to give up motor enhancements and other goodies just to have it. Finally he relented after another issue came up costing a bunch of money

Is there a standard serpentine belt offsets? Or can they be all over the place?

On the interior he did say if we needed to he wouldn't have an issue going black after seeing that one '78 that has a black interior. Then currently the only performance upgrade he wants is the dual exhaust. I am seeing after 30 years since I had my '79, these cars are real money pits with what little there is for a '78-'80 Monte. I could of had that Camaro with a black interior on the cheap compaired to staying tan in his.

I should have gone black, but didn;t want to spend the $ for new door panels

In the end, staying red cost just as much, and I think black interiors should be in every car (red dirt country, every light color is a nightmare)

I get the black idea, that was actually my plan with my first monte cause it was red interior. When I got the second and it had blue I was fine with it

I pulled the power driver seat back out of the car and took the mechanicals out of it. The gear case wasn't damaged but the drive coupler was destroyed. Ordered 2 replacements at GBodyParts and hopefully she's cured. I am going to order a new gear case from Cap'n Cadillac's Cove on eBay and keep it on hand in case it becomes a problem down the road.
