What did you do at work today?

Working at the biggest camping / caravaning fair in Europe for the next 10 days.
Day 1 started quite nice. Sold the red Unimog for 500k$ an hour after doors opened. Might get the employee of the year award in the company, which gives me the parking spot right beside the back entrance and a nice plaque in the ladies rest rooms. 🙈

Had one of the girls in today looking to help with the wayyy overdue clean up at the shop. Had a rental cube left over from a delivery last night ( thus free ). Took in a full load of old store displays, broken down crates, and misc garbage to the tune of over 4500 lbs net at the scale out ( sorry Penske and your 3500 lbs limit ). That cost us $175.00 in dump fees. Back to the shop and load #2 was 2 skids 60" high loaded with E-Waste to the recycler which netted us $185.00 in profit.

We made Just enough money today to buy us each a cheeseburger from Dirty B-King and shared an order of fries ! LOL

Then she tore thru the plywood from the crates we broke down to net us 12 full 4x8 sheets of 3/4" plywood that we cleared of all the nails and staples with a death wheel. Probably free-ed up 10 skid spots over all and burnt a day.

Overall it was a good day. She better be sore because sure as F I am !!

Need to add there is hope for our youth. She is 25 & soon to be single. Great work ethic with 2 jobs. Likes big trucks and fast old cars, doesn't mind hard work ( we had her 5' deep helping to dig a 30" round hole earlier this week ) and looking for a good man who doesn't wear sandals or tries to have hair longer than hers. To add she is not hard on the eyes at all LOL

Trying to set her up with my son ( 6 years her junior ) to see if she can teach him a thing or three 🙂

Oh yeah... back on Monday went and looked at a long term storage property about an hour out of town. Friend of a friend bought 200+ acres as an investment property with the intention that 20 years down the line one of his girls can live there or he and his wife will retire there. In the meantime it's a century old house and stables for 40 head of horses. There is enough open field to be self sufficient so that they can gather their own hay. It comes with 2 ladies that live in the century built field stone house. Those 2 have 4 horses, property owner will add his 7. There are 40 stalls and a hayloft ( which nobody uses anymore with the round bales ). He is willing to wall off the back half 24 stalls of the barn and hay loft for us for long term storage. Plus pretty much unlimited outside storage so I can gather all the long term rigs we have at 4 different locations all in to 1. Would be pretty nice as all our stuffs are spread between 2 houses, a warehouse and 2 storage locations now.

Funny thing is the only issue I have is that he wants us to tear out all the stalls on the east side of the barn and half the support beams. To me they all look "field" cut and are clearly near or over 100 years old. The loft is newer ( I would say 70's ) but all the stalls look like they are hand carved 6x6 which I will have a real issue tearing out. Going to be a busy fall but 2021 is showing some promise

And I guess fall has arrived. Just like that the leaves have begun to turn and it looked like this at 0539hrs when I went out to juggle rigs in the driveway this morning. The sun would typically be cracking the horizon by now.

Happy Labour Day !!!

I tried to talk a prospective client to retain a paralegal in the area of where her case will take place. It's a 2 hour drive each way but she insisted that she will pay what it costs. Her lawyer for her civil matters told her to retain me cause he knows (her words) I don't waste time and I know what I am doing. I told her I'd have to bill her for a full day at a little over $200 per hour plus mileage but she said that's fine...I told her to think it over, I don't mind making money but I'm not the only that can do the job so I don't want her to pay more than she should.....

You are a good man to put your client's welfare above your pocketbook. Three cheers to you.
