What did you do at work today?

put a bid on a hole house waste vent and water pipe replaement. then replace a gas control on a tankless water heater. last call was cabling a main sewer, got out about 85 ft. my machine locked up. the cable spun over its self. had to tear the machine a part and fixed the kinked cable in the clients basement. pain in the *ss. got the machine fixed and got the line opened 3 hours later. the joys of being a plumber

I painted this 69 Firebird. Not crazy about the color, but it’s not mine. Not crazy about the clear we use at the shop, but it works in a booth that has no heat. By the time I was done clearing the booth temp was 58, and the clear wasn’t on the floor. That’s a win in my book.

had a sign face come off on the wind on a 10 foot wide by 40 foot high box I am supposed to take apart next week anyways. So emergency call. Cant have someone waiting for their Krispy Creme donuts with a 50 x 120 panel dangling in the breeze just waiting to fall and take them out.
I originally pulled up in Truck 1 but it will not reach so I got my partner to drop truck 2 and another helper then he had to go back to the shop. He took her car and split leaving me with 2 muppets.

I got up, tried to pull the face off the sign with truck 2 ( this lift was made in 1968 mind you ) . It's creaking like always and then the main cable ( oh crap ) lets go. I gasp a breath thinking everything is OK and I will have to fix this sooner than later. ROFL a Half second later the secondary cable snaps at 30 or so feet up and tries to eject-o-george on his dumb head LOL. FWIW when the cables snap the bucket reverts to a near flat 80 degree position. I guess I should go on a diet 🙂

Thought my son and helper ( muppets ) were both going to toss their cookies when they seen me up there. I started cursing, then threw the tools down, climbed out and down off truck 2 jumped back in truck 1 that wasn't supposed to reach. Used the 2wd ( anger edition now ) up on to the grass ( and besides who needs grass in the winter anyways ). Got the panels pulled and job done like I should have to begin with.

....BTW if you are my insurance adjuster this isn't me writing this post !!!

Just another Friday I guess. LOLOL where is my rye ??

LMAO at anger mode! Amazing what gets done when you're pissed off enough.

Did they have to call the cops to get you out?
Well I was a hour and a half from home, it was quiting time, and it's Friday. That was me playing. I could sit and watch the operator work all day. It takes him about 20 minutes to take a car apart. It has a clamp on the front of the machine that squeezes the car and the jaw rips the engine out. It is really neat watching him pull wiring harness out. Neat stuff.

Got the Firebird all rubbed out. Looks pretty good.
