Started installing my power mirror upgrade. Mirrors from a third generation Camaro/Firebirds and Pontiac Fieros are the exact same housing (verified part numbers) As the sport mirrors from a Monte Carlo. The gaskets for the Monte needs to be used but otherwise it’s a direct swap. I extended the harness from the mirror side and routed it the same way as the stock manual adjustment line so that it clears the window when it goes up and down. Got everything wired and used heat shrink to keep it nice and clean. Snagged some correct style connectors for plug and play into the fuse box below the dash. Only got to one side before the sun went down but I did get to test it and was happy with the results. Attached are some photos as well as the general diagram I used that I found on MontecarloSS.com forum. Credit to whoever made that and for the general idea.

Got my rods back from the machine shop. Reconditioned and new pistons. Popped one in (sans rings, feeler gauges to center piston in) and came out to .0945 in the hole. That with a .042 headgasket will give me 9.69:1. About the limit on pump gas with how dumb of a design factory heads are what with their 55cc open chamber. Gonna use the same model cam I used before, but retarding it to 0*. Worth about 20-30hp. Also bumps DCR down to 7.45:1 by retarding it. (7.67:1 at 4*) so i could easilly run mid grade if i wanted/had to. Curious to see how much more, if any, power this engine makes than my old one. It's basically the same build but with a tighter bore (about 30k less miles), cam retard, and will have headers by the time I dyno it. Oh, and the AL intake. And not a 10.8 afr. And more than 30* of timing.
