What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2021]

Hi everyone long time no chat. Thought I'd let you all know what I've been up to on my G-body. Slowly working on my 1980 Lemans . Every time I touch it the project grows bigger than I first planned . It is about torn down. Pulled the interior including the door and quarter glass, handles ,locks, grilles .lights etc... Started to prep the 67 GTO hood scoop I'm planning to graft in and have the 85 Monte SS rear spoiler almost reworked and installed. Not wanting to fill my garage with dust over winter I decided to start working underneath. So I pulled the rear end, suspension ,control arms .etc... And of course noticed the fuel tank had a nasty dent so ordered up a new one but couldn't install it with the old sending unit. once I had everything removed under the back half I decided to freshen up the undercoating and paint the frame and components. So now have the rear installed with new bushing .brakes, hardware, drums, lines, hose, shocks, springs, park cables, tank and sending unit and had to throw in a sway bar. Moving towards the front underneath I decided the trans and motor were just leaking to much and now have decided to pull them ( will make the cleanup easier) . Of course engine options are jumping into my head??? Will keep anyone interested posted. Some pic of pre, and during

Have my replacement dash almost finished. Radio and new steering wheel will go in after I install the Lokar LED shift indicator. I can’t believe the parts and amount of work that requires.

Getting closer to finishing up this wrap job.. first time wrapping a vehicle, would not recommend but looks wayyyyy better than the paint job someone put on her before I got her. The only piece left is the deck lid. There are some wrinkles and imperfections but overall I'm pleased especially compared to before. I've started calling her Betty White, because she is old, white and wrinkly.

Here is how she looked before the vinyl.... 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

Eventually I will strip all the back off and do the proper bodywork but for now this lets me drive without being embarrassed every time I pulled it out of the garage.

I respectfully disagree. That is awesome, I would rock that paint job with glee. 😆

I finally addressed the overspray that got on the side of the frame under the sides of the car. Last night I taped off and got to brushing. I used this Rust Oleum picked up from the big box orange place and a foam brush.
I also gave it the Rktpwrd treatment and painted the pinch welds black to match the frame. Crazy how such a subtle touch makes it look different. Thanks D for that idea!
I had to come back earlier and give both sides a 2nd coat, also using a flashlight to hit the spots I missed last night. It looks way better now, pics aren't the greatest. It'll be outside tomorrow since electrical will be worked on. I'll get better pics...
