What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2023]

Started the redo/rebuild of the front to rear harness tonight after a busy Mother's Day. That OE aluminum wire is junk, it breaks so easily when pulling it out of the conduit. That holding crimp doesn't help either as the conduit is crushed from it & makes it hard to pull the wires out after it's removal. It's nice have the correct crimpers to job.

Got the console finished around Thursday with a gauge pod from GlowShift:

And made a mount for my AFR gauge out of scrap that’s the perfect width to fit in between the old screw holes for the under dash ash tray. Also fitted a button to arm the line-lock relay.

Then I took the dash out this afternoon because the last time I put it in I must’ve not moved the radio antenna wire out of the way, and pinched it between the heater box and ductwork, leaving an inch gap.
That I found while tying off wires.
With my head under the dash.
Upside down.

On Friday was trying to put the new tire on but was really fighting me, don't remember them being so hard the first time around. But was trying to get it on after work and was rushing because I had to take the fam out for Mothers Day. The driver comes back in at the end of the day and says he will help, tried to say no thats ok i'll just wait for the mechanic to get back. But he insists, then undoes everything I did which I told him would happen if he moved the clamp. And just to finish it off correctly he takes the plastic cover off the tire bar which I told him not to do because I didn't want to scratch the wheel. Then after a few minutes we notice a few scratches on the wheel and he shockingly says did we do that, I said it surely wasn't like that before so had to which we both knew meant that he did it. So ended up saying F it and called it a day

I can’t tell whether that driver’s just that clueless, or if he did all that on purpose.

Working on the a pillar and reworking that rusted out section of the hinge pillar, got it looking much better.

I really have to give a huge thanks to the guys who have been helping me lately...all for free. Guy painted my bumper fillers for free (I paid for the paint that was color matched by a local paint supplier), guys at work put the chrome door molding on the door with my company's new 2 part adhesive and clamped it for 4 hours, found spray paint for my monte carlo for $15 a can, etc.... new headliner, stripe kit, carpet, etc... for the monte if I ever get it back lol

Finished the front to rear harness but still need a conduit as the new wires won't all fit in the original. Had OCD kick in as the lengths of each wire wasn't exactly the same as the old ones but I prevailed. 20230515_190827.jpg
