3 hr vacuum?! How long did you let it sit?Update: It works! I put a rebuilt compressor on and vacuumed it down for over 3 hours. I'm getting 45° at the ducts with 85° ambient. If it lasts then I got away cheap, and that is my middle name!
Not long. But I skipped changing the accumulator as it as in a bitchy spot. The system has never been open as far as I know. The compressor failed internally with no loss of pressure and no debris. So as I opened up fittings I stuck duct tape over them to keep out moisture. I worked quick to slip new O-rings on and bolt it all back together as fast as possible. While the system vacuumed down I went about replacing the gazillion things that had to come off just to even SEE the compressor. That is what took hours so I just let it vacuum while I did that. It could only help get any moisture possibly left in there.3 hr vacuum?! How long did you let it sit?
