Had to replace a front tire on my ride on mower. Darn tire would not seat on the bead with the belt method so I had to use the scary fire method.

In the process of changing a cam chain tensioner in a VW Beetle. The special tool that compresses the tensioner promptly exploded when I tried to use it, and I had to make a replacement out of some brass fittings, a self-tapping screw, and a vacuum tee.

It worked, and I got the cam and tensioner reinstalled only to find that my paint pen marks did not line up with the chain anymore. Oh crap, pull it out again and move one of the cams one tooth over to line it and reassembled. Once the tensioner pressured up the cam was in the wrong spot again.

CRAP.

Pulled it apart and did it again, and messed it up again. I finally went inside and googled it again, and figured out what I did wrong but by then it was 10pm, and I was throughly angry by that point so I will fight that battle another day.

Worked on my Cougar this weekend. I adjusted the vacuum operated headlight doors to that they're even when in the closed position, and I'm trimming the front mounting brackets of the Cal-Tracs bars on the rear to mimic their "low-profile" design. I didn't need the extra hole hanging down that I'll never use.
