In an effort to organize the garage as well as take inventory I actually started organizing the parts I have for various vehicles. This meant tracking them down between the basement, two bedrooms, and the garage. Man, I've got a lotta stuff! (See: junk)
This pile is most of what goes with Roxanne when I sell her, and a lot is new but the old Regency exhaust tips got cleaned with oxalic. New bedside & a couple other parts not pictured:
Here's a small pile of square body stuff, again not all pictured. I never realized I was sitting on a gauge cluster mine (have 3 more):
These tail lights received some alcohol based dish cleaner and the trim was cleaned with oxalic, but both still need polished. The door panels are filthy and hiding a couple of windows, and the glove boxes need attention as well.
Found that I have a full set of trim for a truck as well as for a Blazer, some of which has been separated so I don't lose them. So I'm probably gonna lose 'em. Spare cheap stereos on the recliner:
I cleaned my collection of gauge bezels and painted some headlight bezels. They got hit with Wax/Tar Remover followed by Adhesion Promoter, Black Sandable Primer, and Rust-Oleum Metallic Silver. I dropped one, ruining the primer by catching it, and tried using a rag then Filler Primer to save it- I should've stripped it with brake cleaner or just waited & sanded since I had no acetone/ thinner/ etc., but it's not terrible:
I found two transmission inspection covers, one being absolutely covered in years of buildup:
So I cleaned them both with my special blend of soap and got it to look like this:
And here it is next to the cleaner one that simply received VHT Aluminum:
I also cleaned up a nearly new polished aluminum intake (Power Plus) I grabbed from Marketplace for $60. It really only needed a small amount of RTV & gasket material removed & a quick wipe with Denatured Alcohol since it was barely ran before being replaced with a chrome unit:
I soaked a 27 mm sway bar in oxalic before quickly sanding with 220 and covering it with Self Etching Primer, Sealer, a single coat of Filler Primer, some Black Sandable Primer, and finally Satin Black. I wanted Semi Gloss but have two faulty brand new cans of it. I wasn't looking for perfect on this piece anyway as it may not be permanent. There are some 3" drop spindles on the floor in the background that need a bit o' love before installation.
I soaked the factory jack accessories in oxalic & then neutralized them before shooting Self Etching Primer, Sealer, Black Sandable, and finished this stage with Satin. They need some flair before getting cleared... pinstripes maybe? There's also the transmission x-member from my '86 which is a custom piece I made way back in high school. It's two driver's side halves lap-welded together, and it got a bath in oxalic before seeing Rust Inhibitor Primer, Sealer, Black Sandable, and Satin:
Here's another shot of it in front of a vintage billet grille, boxes of glass H4 headlight housings, Hooker exhaust tips, 2" drop springs, and another set of drop shackles. Beverly is gonna look good:
