Highlighted the MAIN reason above. I can't knock a gift for sure. My mother-in-law willed me her 2012 Ford Focus with a ridiculous 3,800 miles on it when she passed. I found out why after she passed. It was simply because I went with her to help make sure she got the best deal on it. I thought it was because she thought I must have needed another car! :giggle: I tried to get her not to will it to me as I really didn't want or need it. She insisted. I'm conflicted on selling it, though because my wife says when she drives it or rides in it that it reminds her of her mom. Old people are strange sometimes, myself included.
If you keep the Focus for a little while, and decide to do some deeper investigation into them, there are a couple of Focus forums you might browse through.
AllFord Focus, and FocusFanatics. It seems that some of the Focuses can be bumped up to some amazing horse power levels.

My niece has this Focus hatch with some mods. It's not an ST or RS, but it's still a peppy car. I've always had a soft spot for the "import" type cars that are tastefully done...

I don't know about all that. It's an A to B vehicle. Right now, it's doing service as my "test mule" for engine/emission decals, etc., or to go pick up GM parts at the dealership. :) It's hard enough to get past the blue oval on the grille just to get in it, let alone lurk around on a forum about Focus cars. Not going to fault those who love them, but I can't ever see me falling in love with this car. The wife makes it harder since it was her mom's car and makes me guilty every time I mention putting a For Sale sign on it. It doesn't have enough miles on it to know how it's going to survive down the road service-wise. And I'm not interested in adding anything to it like wheels/tires or engine mods or any of that. It's bad enough trying to find maintenance parts for it.

I've found out there's like 4 different variations of coolant hoses for it depending on body style, options, etc. Luckily it has the old Ford numbers still on the hoses, so that helps narrow stuff down. Except sometime or other they had to modify their numbering system so the "old" numbers needed to be updated to the "new" numbering system. Which is what happens when you don't use strictly a number system like GM.

So. . . one of the houses = one of your investment properties?
Well, it's a second/rural home on about 7 chainlinked acres with a private lake.

We've been looking at maybe listing it for sale. I think mind has been made up now for certain. It's just nice to have a retreat... except like now, when it isn't.

It was where wife got her ring about 7 years back

If it's not costing you money keep it. It won't go down in value.
