I don't think that one fits my Ramen Noodle Budget right now...

My choice would be the LS7 with the T-56 from an F body. The Northstar is too old now, and it really doesn't make enough power in stock form for my taste. BTW...anyone have a line on a cheap, wrecked C6 ZR-1? A CTS-V perhaps?

might wanna pop the hood of that CTS-V first
Why? the current CTS-V uses a dumbed down LS9, called the LSA.
Still an LS series motor... only northstar still used is in Buicks, fwd caddies, and the XLR.

Yup, the CTS-V engine has a little less boost and wet sump oiling vs the Dry sump of the ZR-1. Of course, I would rather have the dry sump oiling, but I wouldn't turn down the LSA if it was offered to me either. Come to think of it, I wonder how hard it would be to slip in a 2JZ-GTTE/6 speed? VH56DE with a big turbo, perhaps?
