Blowing colour into the door jambs, under hood, and in the trunk is a PIA. I vote for stock colour just becasue I am lazy and a colour change looks like crap unless you do it right.

I agree with that too.

I would go with something like a lake violet pearl and white. Almost purple but more of a blue and looks great.

My clear coat faded because the dew point and temp dropped suddenly and settled into the clear.

If your going to do a paint job you might as well do it right. Paint the door jams etc. Just take some masking paper or plastic and cover up the door opening behind the door jam. Its well worth the extra work. That first paint job I did I tried leaving the origional chevy white paint in the door jams, under the hood, and trunk lid and it looked like sh**. But then again that just my opinion since I do my own paint jobs and everything else. Nothing wrong with stock either, I just didn't want to keep my bone white cause it looked like a granny car.

Hey pokertramp,
How bout plum crazy purple

What are your plans with the car? If you're gonna lift it and put some big wheels on it then black doesn't stand out very well. But if you're gonna keep it stock then a custom paint job won't look so well either. I like silver Cutlass's for some reason but it's gotta have a nice metal flake or maybe charcoal gray.

the suspension on the car will remain STOCK.... i was never a fan of the huge wheels and lifts... or hydraulics... i've just always liked the darker cutlasses, and mine is in too good of condition to give up in search of one in my choice of color

I always prefer stock colors. Cars painted colors that obviously were not offered from the factory make them look cheap and soon will look dated. Paint it stock color, or something very close.

okay guys... i gonna keep it stock... thanks for the input! 🙂 i'll save the purple for another project that's in need of paint... since this was obviously isn't
