Nawlins,
Putting photos up on the site is easy. First, if you click the networxcomputer link in my signature you'll see photos of my interior. Since then I've had the door panels re-upholstered and installed several gauges on the cockpit. Anyway, by being a registered member you have a photo album on this site you can upload photos to. If you click my name "dedub" you will see the photo album. You should have the same thing under user control panel (I think). Give it a shot, I uploaded huge photos and they all took.

Hey "dedub" I do remember checking out your 80 a while back. But I must say you are definately cleaner than mine. Anyway, if you have time I just started to put up a few shots of mine on this site's photo gallery under Nawlins-tim ...I'll be adding more in time , How could I have forgotten to take a pic of the motor. I'll get that next.
take care....

Thanks for the post Jimmy, 2843 is a lot lighter.
So far we have 3300 and 2843. I didn't see any major differences in the setup. Is that block aluminum? If not what do you think made the 400+ lbs.?

Just removing small stuff, heater a/c box was about 100 lbs of crap hanging there i wasnt going to use. Changed rad core support to the aluminum one cheap 25 dollar jy item.went from bench seat to buckets. All the xtra 305 stock goodies i.e. a/c, charc. canister, p/s, lots a lil stuff adds up . S-10 gear box to elimate the p/s was a lil lighter.Front bumper is next to come off for this years build gotta take from front and add weight to the rear.

Well great job on the diet. Most people don't understand that 100 lbs. is roughly a 1/10 sec. on the 1/4 mil. So 400 + is about .3 to .4 on your ET!

Here are some differences .First of all I really don't think the weight difference is in the motor. I have all my a/c and heating items with compressor and brackets. My stock fuel pump is got to be heavier than an electric pump. then I have a 8.5 vs his 7 5/8 10 bolt. I have plain ol' BF goodrich radials. Man I can;t find a 500 pound difference .and HE has the BIG BLOCK . Something doesn't sound right. any one agree?

Check around , do the math. The BBB weighs 50lbs less than a sbc when u ditch the intake and exh manifolds and replace with alum int and headers. no heavy clutch fan, compressor, a/c/ or heater core. Gear box is 15 lbs lighter plus no p/s pump and or fluid ... it all adds up lotsa little stuff after work ill do a detailed post of what i removed and weights of the parts/glass/plastic ets...

OK I did it! Finally got out to work and weighed the car. Here is what I got.

Rear End 8.5" Grand National
Transmission TH 350
