What exactly are considered vortec heads

I found some rebuilt center bolt heads that came of a 91 z28 camaro for 50 buck's.They are still in the plastic raping with new valves,springs,seals and they look mint.But what heads are clasified as vortec heads.thanks

i believe vortec would be 96 and newer. not 91

Those are swirl ports. Most people would call them junk. Vortecs are 96 and up. They only have 8 bolts for the intake instead of 12, and they(the bolts) are completely vertical instead of angled.

Pretty sure they will. You will just need to get a Vortec style intake.

And to further clarify.....they were only found on 96-98 trucks and vans (and some 98+ trucks and vans that had a 5.7 and were still the older style chassis).

1-ton trucks were built until '01 or so (3/4-ton until '00) in the classic body style with that motor.
