As everyone has already eluded to, SBC will be your biggest bang for the buck IF you can find a good used pull out. Another option is to buy a junk yard 5.3 LS truck engine for $2-300, clean it up and bolt it in with 1" set back mounts. Depending on your expectations FAST and BUDGET wont be possible.

9 months later... This guy never got the " Introduction " or " Pictures " part. Everybody knows a crate SBC is a great way to go, or a Vortec 350 off CList for $250 with a intake, and carb swap. NEXT!!!
