I heard if I use a 17x8 in front I should be able to run a 245/45 will it clear the a arm and tie rod arm?

17x9.5 in the rear with a 285/50
Malibu guys help me out if anyone has already put 17 on their malibu.
Thanks.

now iv never put that big of a wheel on a malibu. But i dont think your tierods, or control arms would be the issue, I would think the wheel wells will be where you might have an issue.
Normally the bigger the wheels, the more space youll have around the suspension. Its on the out side edges of the tires, where you have the problems (tires rubbing the wells)

17 x 9.5 at the rear might hit the inner fender lip ,if stock height with 4.5 back spacing.....

17 x 8 in front doesnt create too much an issue, turning radius is slighly diminish

I have 17x8 up front with 4.5 bs and a 235/50 tire. I plan on running 245/45 when these are shot. Like was stated before, no problems with steering parts but possible rub on inner fender. It will depend a lot on if its lowered or not.

The car will be going back on her stock spindles for a brake upgrade and I'm adding the wheels for handling and braking power. But i hate people touching my car so i mostly am looking for the backspacing
4.5 bs for the front with a 245 sounds good. Is the rear the same bs as the front?
Can i get a 285 on a 17x8 rim?
Thanks.

it will fit ,but will give a buldge that will get the tire nearly rub on the frame
but it should clear...
the problem with our rear suspension,is the sloppiness in our arms ....i`m going 4 link+panhard rod for this reason (no side movement)

personnally i woulndt go over 275 on a 8 " rim
