what's the prize if we guess right?...
A used CompCams 260H camshaft .... oh and whatever it is

For those that couldn't see the link. This is my wiper motor. Complete with washer pump, delay, pulse relay and timing switch.

I've cut the list of circuits with a yellow wire in it to these.I'm not saying any of these are the right one(because I don't know). Neutral Safety Start Switch or Start Relay Feed, A/C: Feed-Auto Relay Controlled or Ground-Amb. Sensor Controlled, IR Feed, Ign. Switch Controlled Unfused, ECM to Coolant Temp. Switch, as mentioned above, Theft Deterrent-Alarm Arm, and this is interesting Ground,Fuel Economy Switch Controlled Green telltale (a white wire is for the amber telltale).
I still agree with the alarm guess!

Doug

I think it's a motion detection switch ( liquid mercury or pendulum)! If you can, check your cars horn curcuit wiring for a splice, or even a pigtail/jumper wire (sometimes the alarm system used the cars horn(s). The horn circuit uses dark green wires.

Thats what I was thinking too but he hasn't tested it yet...

I'm still thinking it has something to do with an alarm, like the motion detector....if you have a multimeter put is on the continuity setting and see if the two connections set it off when shaking the part..it can't be a relay with only two wires

Did a Google search for GM alarm motion switch and found a patent number but no picture (GM called them "tilt switches").
Just a guess but I think you could tape it perpendicular on a 2x4, attach the red wire to a 12V power supply and the yellow wire to a light bulb. Once it's hooked up, lift or "tilt" the board and see if the bulb lights.

Doug

Probably best to use a circuit tester light thuogh!

Wouldn't checking the horn circuit wiring require removing the steering wheel? :?

no...he means to do a visual the see if any wire is tapped into your horn wire...you can find out which wire that is at the connector on your steering column with a test lite...your horn will sound if the wire is grounded by the test lite.

Okay, just look under the dash for a small box with wires coming out of it (it will be there only if the alarm system was never removed), it will be about the size of a cigarette pack. Our Lumina van had a GM alarm system (it was installed at a GM dealer and had the GM security system decal on both door glass). It was a pain in the a$$ and I took it completely out.
If what you are dealing with is an alarm system, any splices etc. were more than likely done with out removing the dash and just lowering the steering column at best! Any additional wiring from an alarm system should be visible by just looking under the dash (if it's still there).
I hope I'm helping you!

Doug
