Blake,
I would've thought that parts and components for 1/18th scale cars are harder to come by than 1/24th scale models. I guess I was mistaken. Cool projects.

There is WAY more stuff out there for 1/24... 1/18 is just starting to come around with wheel sets and motors.
Broken/damaged cars or cars with bad paint can usually be had for decent deals, so it's a little easier to stomach parting them out
Other cars are still the best source for parts. Most guys that mod end up with 1/18 junkyards full of cars that have been scavenged lol.
I bought an entire car just to steal the air cleaner decal for my 442 lol

Blake,
I had no idea there was such an active subculture going on for the 1/18th scale stuff.
Again, 1/24th stuff was always popular and accessible.

I grew up riding and racing motocross. Learned to ride when I was 7, raced the first time at 11. I was a second generation racer that rode and raced every week for over 40 years. I did some track day stuff in a couple of Porsches for a few years also.

Just thought I'd share a couple more I make a replica drag cars from our track

Ace,
What kind of Porsches were you into?

Gardening for me too, partial to bamboo and Japanese maples. Also like eclectic solid wood furniture refinishing and re-purposing stuff most people just throw away. Go camping/fishing couple times a year but finding those are becoming old hobbies as I seem to have developed a case of homebodyitus in recent years....
