I’ve got a 1985 Monte Carlo ss. I want to put a 2 inch drop all around and want 18x9.5 wheels they have a 5.29 backspace and they have a 01mm offset. Was wondering if anyone had any input on how this would fit and if it would fit without issues? I’m going to have drop springs with shortened shock body’s to accommodate. They are US MAG rambler wheels

I"M running US Mag ramblers on my 87 Monte Carlo SS. 18x8 all around. 225/45 front 245/45 rear. I" going to put 18x9.5 wheels on the rear of my S-10 run and 275/40 tires. These wheels look great with the knock offs. Bill. WV

Is your Monte lowered at all or is it stock height? Do you think I could get away with 9.5 wide on front and back?

According the to the UMI guys, they are doing a Cutlass with 2" drop all around and they are using that exact size and BS wheel and they say there is no problem. However, this is with their suspension components so not sure stock stuff with a drop will work...

I'm running that size and backspacing. I don't see how they wouldn't rub the frame in the back. I notched mine to the seam and have plenty of room though. Yes you can easily run that size on the front IF you run tall upper ball joints which change the camber curve so they won't rub on the inner fenders.

Do you think if I ran 18x8 wheels with low profile tires I’d fit?

Given the correct backspacing, yes absolutely. Many have been able to fit 9.5" I just don't want you to think you absolutely can. You may be able to, BUT you may not.... quality control on these vehicles was horrible. Hence why some have issues and others don't.

So will a 18x8.5 with 4.54 backspace most likely fit? And that sucks I can’t really fit a 9.5 without risking anything, I’d rather not notch my frame at the moment as I’m trying to finish it for summer.

I’m also just changing sprints and size of shocks. No ball joints or control arms. I’m just going for looks not handling.
